Always tie your hair up or wear a hat. You must always wear gloves when working with food. Always smile and have fun!
Setting Up
Place Machine on a flat, stable surface.
Put the metal bowl on top and make sure it aligns with all the clips on the sides.
Put the netting and clips on the bowl. The smaller the circle you place the netting around the spinner, the easier it is for the floss to stick to the sides. This will help control the floss from flying everywhere.
Place the dome on top and make sure its secured in properly.
Plug in machine to proper receptacle. Make sure any electrical leads do not have a trip hazard.
Before turning on the motor switch, and with the spinner head stationary, fill floss head about 90% with sugar. DO NOT OVERFILL! Whenever you add sugar to the floss head, always fill it about 90% full. This is necessary to obtain a balanced condition in the floss head or excessive vibration will occur.
Place a bin next to you
Place the buckets of floss sugar and floss cones close to you.
Wear gloves, hair is out of the way. Smile and your ready to go!
Ready to Make Fairy Floss
Turn the motor switch to the “on” position. You should not have to turn off the motor switch until the end of the shift.
Turn the heat switch to the “on” position
If the floss is coming out too fast, turn off the Heat Switch and turn back on once ready. But do not do this too often as it can damage the machine.
Do not leave sugar in the head when finished making cotton candy. Always run the sugar all the way out before turning the heat switch off.
End Of Use
When finished making cotton candy, and with no sugar in the floss head, turn the heat off. The machine will keep spinning to cool the spinner head and auto shut off.
Next the power switch off on the machine and on the mains power, and remove any extension cords.
Wipe down the sides and remove any excess sugar from the bowl, pack everything away. Don’t leave anything behind!
DO NOT PUT HANDS OR OBJECTS IN ROTATING SPINNER HEAD DO NOT FILL SPINNER HEAD WITH SUGAR WHILE IT IS ROTATING OPERATOR SHOULD WEAR EYE PROTECTION DO NOT PUT HANDS NEAR ROTATING SPINNER HEAD USE FLOSS CONE TO COLLECT COTTON CANDY
( These instructions & Candy floss picture instructions located on the back of the machine)

Troubleshooting
No Floss is coming out too fast
Turn down the heat, or turn off the heat
Floss keeps flying everywhere
Adjust the netting and clips on the bowl. Adjust it so the netting is closer towards the spinner. This will help the floss stick to the sides.
The Floss is not coming out
The heat has not been turned up. Turn on the heat.
Or Crystallisation has built up. Use a long skinny object to break the crystallisation and empty the machine. eg. Chopsticks, end of the fork or spoon
The Machine is smoking
The heat is on too high, turn it down
The machine looks like its overheating
Turn off machine, tell customers to give you 5 minutes while you clean the machine and let the machine cool down
The machine is shaking
There is not enough sugar in the spinner. Put more sugar in there.
On the USA machine, there is 2 black handles on the side. Turn it so its up and down. This will release the spinner so it can bounce freely and not shake the table.
You accidentally overloaded the machine with too much sugar
Turn the power off and carefully tip the machine upside down to empty the excess sugar.
Your main goal is to make sure no one gets hurt. Do not favour anybody. All rules apply to everyone. All patrons need to feel you are in control. Use a stern voice, but do not ever be rude or man handle any children. Always be friendly and smiling. Do not have your hands in your pocket. You must always be alert and reactive. Do not sit down.
Tell all patrons the safety rules:
no somersaults
no tackling or rough play
no climbing walls
sit down feet first before going down the slide (strictly no running or jumping off the top platform).
no pushing in
one at a time, down the slide
remove all footwear
remove all sharp or hard objects such as pens, buckles, spectacles
no food or drinks
Remember many young users can’t read signs so you will need to tell them what they are.
How Many Patrons Can Play Each Session
Single Lane Slide – 1 person down at a time.
Dual Lane Slide – 2 person on each lane at a time.
DO NOT ALLOW 2 PERSON TO GO DOWN TOGETHER EVEN IF ITS CHILD AND ADULT. THIS CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY.
Make sure everyone is off the inflatable before the next session starts. This helps to control the flow of the line during peak periods.
Where Should The Supervisor Be Standing?
We recommend the supervisor to be stationed right at the entrance of the ladder to control the line. Use Body Block to control the line.
For Dual Lane slides, you may want to position yourself at the top of the slide.
Pay careful attention to the weather conditions. Wind is the enemy of waterslides.
How Long Should We Allow For Each Session?
Once they go down the slide, they must line up again.
Watch the activity of patrons constantly and remove those who disobey your instructions. Use a whistle or similar warning as a way to attract attention should any misbehaviour occur.
Dangers To Look Out For and How to Resolve It
Kids going down the slide face first. Give them warning.
Kids jumping off the slide (when they are at the top, tell them to stop by using hand signals, then tell them to sit down)
Kids pushing in or going 2 at at time down the one slide. THIS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. IT CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY.
How To Deal With Difficult Patrons
Use Body Block and waving arms for more effective crowd control. (position your body in front of the patron and spread your arms out)
Always use a stern voice, but do not be rude. Let them know you are in charge.
Always get their full attention so they know you are talking to them.
Give children 1-3 warnings depending on the severity of the incident.
And Yes, you are allowed to ban or timeout people from playing on the slide if you feel they are being a danger to others and themselves. Your main goal is to make sure no one gets hurt.
EMERGENCY SITUATIONS
What To Do If Someone Gets Hurt
Stop all activity.
Report to onsite medic, or whoever is in charge of the event.
Only resume once the patron has been cared for.
Report all incidents to management.
The supervisor of the inflatable must always be alert to weather conditions:-
What To Do If It Rains:
In wet weather, do not turn off the blower. Cover the blower and electricals using the bag provided at the back of the inflatable.
After the rain settles, you will need to wipe down the inflatable with towels before use to avoid the patrons slipping.
What To Do If It’s Windy:
If wind speeds exceed 30kmh or signs of willy winds approaching, evacuate the patrons from the inflatable immediately.
Turn off the power and allow it to deflate. To speed up the process, some inflatables have velcro zips, where you can unzip the sides to let the air out.
What To Do If The Inflatable Deflates:
Check the blower ventilation to make sure nothing is blocking the fan. Objects such as balloons, leaves, plastic bags or party strings can sometimes be the cause of this.
Check the blower tubes to make sure it hasn’t come undone.
Check the velcro zips to make sure it hasn’t come undone.
Check the blower switch and power point to make sure it hasn’t been tampered with.
Check the extension cords to make sure it hasn’t come apart or been damaged.
Check the mains power or generator to make sure it hasn’t tripped.
If all fails, please call the Ken on 0406 161 959 or one of the trained operators on site.
Generator Problems and How To Fix It
Pull String has snapped
Check if you have time to drive back to the warehouse to get one? If not, Call management immediately on 0421 464 018. If you can’t get a response, contact the other drivers and ask if they are close by?
Call a local hire company and hire a generator (minimum 3kva for each inflatable). Try Coates hire, kennards hire. Google “Generator Hire” or “generator hire perth”. If you can pay for this first, we can re-imburse you, if not tell management who the company is to arrange payment.
Generator Doesn’t Start
Check the fuel
Check the start button (usually red button or lever) has been switched on
Check fuel has been switched on
Check safety switch is turned on
Start on CHOKE, If the blower is starting on cold engine. If the engine has been warmed up, put the lever to RUN mode (rabbit)
Call Management
If the generator started, but after you turned on the blower, it turned off, flick the safety switch back up and start the engine again.
If it really doesn’t start, check if you have time to drive back to the warehouse to get one? If not, Call management immediately on 0421 464 018. If you can’t get a response, contact the other drivers and ask if they are free to drop it off for you.

The generator starts, but the blower keeps tripping it
Have you got the correct generator for the blower? Any 2HP Blowers require our biggest generator.
Turn the safety switch back on.
Warm it up longer and try again
If it trips again and the generator has been warmed up, turn the safety switch back on, keep the blower plugged in with the switch on and pull the string to start the engine.
You can also try this: Turn the safety switch back on and turn the generator back on. Keep you finger on the safety switch to prevent it from flicking off switch and turn on the blower.
Always tie your hair up or wear a hat. You must always wear gloves when working with food. Always smile and have fun!
START THE MACHINE AT LEAST 2 HOURS BEFORE EVENT
PLEASE NOTE: Slushy Machines do not freeze properly in humid conditions. It is advised to position the machine in a cool area.
Mixing Ratio: 1 Part Concentrate / 4 Parts Water
Each bowl can make 50 servings / 200ml each serve
DO NOT use any ice in the machine
DO NOT use any liquid that contains pulp, seeds, etc.
DO NOT use only water!
DO NOT turn on the power until you have filled the bowls with slushie mix
DO NOT overfill the bowl. Keep within the Maximum Line as indicated on the bowl.
Machine must be placed on a level and sturdy surface.
Must have proper ventilation around machine when in use.
Do not put machine in sunlight, direct heat or in rain.
Machine must be under cover/roof/marquee at all times
Pour a bottle of 2lt slush mix and 8lt of water in each bowl. That will make 10 litres. It becomes 12 litres when ice expands.
Once the bowl is full. You can turn on the power.
Next is to turn on the spinner and freeze mode for both bowls.
You can also turn on the light, if the event is happening during the evening.
If you are adding alcohol, wait for the machine to achieve a complete slush condition (slush mixture to be fully ready/frozen) before adding one bottle of 700 ml to 1 litre of alcohol of your choice.
When mixture is below the minimum level, turn the slush/freezing switch off and keep it on cooling mode until all mixture is served.
Remember to keep the machine topped up to maintain the icy consistency. If you leave it too late, it will cause the mixture to be watery. We recommend to top up when it drops to ¾ full.
TOO MUCH ALCOHOL WILL RESULT IN LACK OF FREEZING
TURN OFF THE MACHINE IMMEDIATELY IF CLUNKING IS HEARD OR IF LARGE CHUNKS OF ICE ARE SEEN.
EMPTYING THE SLUSHIE MACHINE:
With the machine switched on, turn off the Freeze or Cooling mode. Leave the spinner on.
Place a bucket under dispenser, and empty the bowl.
Repeat with other bowl.
SLUSHIE MACHINE CLEANING:
Do not take the machine apart.
Fill each side with warm soapy water and dispense until thoroughly rinsed.
With a soft cloth, wipe down all sides inside and out of the machine.
TRANSPORT INSTRUCTIONS (if picked up from the warehouse)
Just to ensure that when you arrive to pick up the machine, that you can meet the following requirements:
All pickups are to be made strictly in an SUV, Station Wagon, Ute or Van. Use ropes or straps to tie it in place.
The vehicle used to transport the machine must have sufficient boot space as the machine cannot be placed on seats and needs to be standing upright at all times.
That you or another person can physically lift the machine (approx. 80kg)
If in difficulty or machine fails to operate, please contact 0406 161 959.

“Alright everyone. Make sure you don’t do flips inside the bouncy castle, no pushing in, no jumping off the slide and always feet first down the slide”
How Many Patrons Can Play Each Session
Ensure the inflatable is not overloaded (6-12 patrons at any one time) Maximum 8 patrons at one time is recommended for large events.
Make sure everyone is off the inflatable before the next session starts. This helps to control the flow of the line during peak periods.
Ensure all patrons using the inflatable at any one time are of similar size. eg. Do not mix 12 year olds with toddlers.
Pay careful attention to patrons who are on the front step as they come out the slide or entering into the inflatable. Shield them from falling off the step.
Where Should The Supervisors Be Standing?
We recommend the supervisor to be stationed in between the slide and the bouncing area.
The supervisor at the front should always be standing close to the steps to ensure the kids do not fall off the step.
Pay careful attention to the weather conditions. Wind is the enemy of bouncy castles.
How Long Should We Allow For Each Session?
We recommend 3 minutes per session. As you get to the last minute, alert the patrons they have one more minute. Once you reach 3 minutes, all patrons must be off the inflatable before the next round of patrons enter.
TIP: Once you reach 10 seconds, tell the patrons they can go one more round before they have to come off.
How To Control Age and Size Of Patrons
For events with more than 30 attendees, create 2 lines for the patrons to line up. Divide the 2 lines into similar size groups.(Do not allow teenagers on with toddlers).
Watch the activity of patrons constantly and remove those who disobey your instructions. Use a whistle or similar warning as a way to attract attention should any misbehaviour occur.
Dangers To Look Out For and How to Resolve It
Kids running or moving really fast around the bouncy castle. (to resolve this, get their full attention and tell them to slow down)
Kids jumping on the front step (tell the kids to go jump inside and point)
Kids jumping off the slide (when they are at the top, tell them to stop by using hand signals, then tell them to sit down)
Kids pushing in or going 2 at at time down the slide (tell them “one at at time” “no pushing in”. If you have to, be the one to control whoever goes next down the slide)

Example:
Scenario: A child is doing flips. You should give him his first warning “don’t do flips or you won’t be allowed back on the bouncy castle” If he does it again, get his full attention and say “You’re not allowed to do flips. If you do it one more time!, you won’t be allowed back on the bouncy castle”
